Department Recommendation:
Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with GCS Environmental Equipment Services, Inc. (GCS) for the previously budgeted amount of $430,688 for the acquisition of a replacement airfield sweeper.

Background Discussion:
Airport Division staff has worked in conjunction with the City's Purchasing Division and Brandley Engineering to complete a Request for Bids (RFB) for a replacement airfield sweeper. This process concluded with the selection of the attached bid from GCS. When Airport staff last presented this project to Council at its meeting on September 3, 2024, the Council approved to conditionally accept Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grant funds of $385,999, during which it was stated that upon officially being awarded the grant funds by the FAA, staff would return to Council to request the award of contract to GCS.

Fiscal Impact:
There is no additional fiscal impact associated to the awarding of the work to GCS. The acquisition of a replacement airfield sweeper was originally appropriated in the 2023-24 Fiscal Year CIP Budget, which was subsequently rolled over to the current fiscal year.
