Department Recommendation:

? Department Recommendation: That the City Council conduct a Public Hearing to receive public testimony on additions/changes/deletions to the City's Rates and Fees Schedule.
? Adopt Resolution 2022-30 to amend the City's fee document for the FY 2022-23; and
? Take action on specific fees, if Council desires, such as:
o Fees increased by CPI;
o Fees increased by ENRCCI; and/or
o Individual fees


Background Discussion:
Proposed new fees, increases, and adjustments to the fees include, but are not limited to, the following services: geographic informational systems, business tax, public safety, airport, transit, building safety, community development, engineering, code enforcement, impact fees, parks and recreation, and public works.

Annually all Fees are recommended for cost-of-living adjustments for the next fiscal year. City ordinances limit annual Impact fee and Business Tax adjustments to specific CPI indexes. Annual inflationary adjustments help Departments cover costs and lessen the burden on the General Fund so that the fund will be available to cover critical operations including Public Safety.

Parks and Recreation is not increasing fees at this time as Staff is currently taking a closer look at the fee structure, analyzing the current fees, and reworking the detail and justification. Staff will bring back to Council the updated fees and Policy and Procedures within the next two months.
