Receive a staff presentation outlining the results of the Visalia Central Core Sidewalk Survey completed by Precision Concrete Cutting.
Summary:
Precision Concrete Cutting (PCC) completed their survey of the central core sidewalks that were located around the grant-funded trees previously installed by the City of Visalia. The main intent of this contract is to have PCC complete concrete shaving repairs and other minor miscellaneous repairs in an effort to minimize trip hazards in the downtown area. Upon completion of the survey, it was determined that about 70% of the downtown trip hazards present could be completed utilizing shaving and miscellaneous repairs for a cost of approximately $214,325. City staff is currently working with PCC to schedule and move forward with this work. It is anticipated that they will start construction around July 7, 2025 and it will take approximately 45 working days to complete this work.
Background Discussion:
On March 3, 2025, the Council approved the contract with Precision Concrete Cutting (PCC) for a total amount not to exceed $500,000. This contract covers sidewalk surveying and concrete shaving services.
