Department Recommendation: Staff recommends that the City Council recommend to the Tulare County Transportation Authority the appointment of Rick Eastes to serve as the City of Visalia representative on the Measure R Citizens Advisory Committee. The final appointment is at the discretion of the Authority
Summary:
An application was received from Rick Eastes to serve as the City of Visalia representative on the Measure R Citizens Advisory Committee. Staff reviewed the application and is bringing forward this recommendation for appointment.
Background Discussion:
The City of Visalia is responsible for recommending a representative to the Tulare County Transportation Authority for appointment to the Measure R Citizens Advisory Committee.
Staff received one application for the vacancy from Rick Eastes. Based on Mr. Eastes being the sole applicant and his previous service on a City committee and his involvement in the Community, staff is bringing forward a recommendation for his appointment.
Fiscal Impact including annual maintenance and operating costs: There is no fiscal impact associated with this action.
Prior Council Action: 2014, Council appointed Tom Weise. 2020, Council appointed Fred Sheriff.
Alternatives: 1. Do not recommend the appointment and direct staff to conduct an additional recruitment process.
2. Provide alternative direction to staff.
