Staff recommends that Council authorize the City Manager to award an annual contract for vehicle and equipment paint and body services to Dura-Glo Paint and Body Inc. of Visalia, CA for Request for Bid (RFB) #22-23-73. Contract not to exceed $250,000 per year, with an option to renew annually for up to four (4) additional one-year terms.
Background Discussion:
The Fleet Maintenance Division developed an annual contract for paint and body services that has been managed through the Fleet Maintenance Division. This contract has been utilized for the repair and maintenance of the City's fleet when involved in accidents, there are needs for graphics to be added or repaired, or vehicles requiring detailing for continued use. The bids include hourly rates with the amount of hours for each repair determined by an industry standard software system, CC1.
On November 21, 2023, bids were received and publicly opened, with only one bid being received. The bid received was submitted by Dura-Glo Paint and Body Inc. of Visalia, CA. Dura-Glo Paint and Body's bid was submitted on time and met all the RFB's requirements. Dura-Glo Paint and Body was the holder of the prior contract and has performed well and in accordance with the current contract.
