Department Recommendation:
Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the following:
1) To file a Notice of Completion for the Greenway Trail Phase 2 (Mill Creek Pedestrian Bridge);
2) Appropriation of an additional $10,000 from the Measure R Trails (132) fund to the Mill Creek Bridge on Greenway Trail project (CP0189);
3) Authorize the amendment to the Measure R Expenditure Plan to reallocate $10,000 from the "K Road along SJ line" to the "Mill Creek Bridge on Greenway Trail"
Background Discussion:
In 2013, the City of Visalia began designing the Greenway Trail which included preparation of California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) documentation. The City entered a contract for $195,755.00 with 4Creeks, Inc. on January 22nd, 2014 for engineering services for the design and specification preparation for the Master Plan of the Greenway Trail Corridor Project.
The Greenway Trail Corridor Project spans from Cameron Creek on the south (just south of Walnut Avenue), adjacent to the Southern California Edison (SCE) Rector Station on Avenue 148, northerly to the St John's River Trail along or under the SCE power lines.
