Department Recommendation:
Staff recommends that City Council authorize the City Manager to file a Notice of Completion for the FY 18-19 Major Street Rehabilitation - Walnut & Murray Project.

Summary and Background:
The FY 18-19 Major Street Rehab Project consisted of two separate projects bundled together to obtain cost savings via economies of scale.

Those projects are as follows:

Project 1 (Measure N - CP0289): This project consisted of paving Walnut Avenue from Central to Court (1.12 mi) and Murray Ave from Dudley to Encina (0.62 mi). The pavement rehabilitation work on Walnut Avenue included removing isolated areas of pavement failures, also known as digouts, edge grinding of existing asphalt, and overlaying with asphalt and a paving mat. The pavement rehabilitation work on Murray Avenue consisted of grinding off the existing asphalt, proof rolling the aggregate base, and overlaying with new asphalt to include a paving mat. The paving mat is made of recycled materials and is designed to maximize the life of the new pavement section. Additionally, the project upgraded some of the existing curb ramps to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements on both these street segments.
