Department Recommendation:
Staff recommends that the City Council authorize staff to apply and accept a San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District grant in the amount $6,236 and appropriate grant funds for the replacement of airfield grounds care tools.
Background Discussion:
Airport Division staff recently purchased replacement airfield grounds care tools consisting of:
- One (1) Handheld Blower with additional batteries and charger
- One (1) Backpack Blower with additional batteries and charger
- One (1) Chainsaw with additional batteries and charger
- One (1) Hedge Trimmer with additional batteries and charger
- One (1) Lawn Mower with additional batteries and charger
The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District has a voucher program (program flyer attached) that allows for full reimbursement of these purchases if approved. Staff has met all grant program requirements, been pre-approved for reimbursement through the program, and now requests Council approval to formally apply and accept the reimbursement funds of $6,236.
Fiscal Impact:
Staff is requesting to appropriate the grant funds in the amount of $6,236. The Airport will be reimbursed for its expenses from the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District.
Prior Council Action:
N/A
Alternatives: City Council could act not to authorize the acceptance of the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District grant monies and the Airport would not be reimbursed for the equipment purchases.
